An Selling Exhibition
Lee Chi Ching (李志清) | Nina Pryde (派瑞芬) | Raymond Fung Wing Kee (馮永基)
7 August to 18 August 2018
Private Preview Tuesday | 7 August 2018 | 18.00-20.00
Mall Galleries, London
Presented by Bosco Hong, HK
ARTouch Consulting is pleased to introduce the upcoming exhibition All About Ink, an art exhibition of works by three Hong Kong artists, Lee Chi Ching (李志清), Nina Pryde (派瑞芬) and Raymond Fung Wing Kee (冯永基), from 7 August to 18 August 2018 at Mall Galleries, London, presented by the Hong Kong-based gallery Bosco Hong Limited.
The three artists were all born in British Hong Kong and under British education. Some of their artworks blend Western and Eastern elements together, in which they paint with Chinese painting techniques while infusing Western concepts. We hope that this exhibition would offer an opportunity to promote Chinese art culture and share the philosophy and spirit of Chinese ink painting with people around the globe.
And in honours of Sir David Tang’s memory, who was a legendary entrepreneur, philanthropist, art supporter, as well as the founder of China Exchange - an organisation serves as a home for ideas, discussion, and creative expression to stimulate greater understanding of and curiosity about China’s impact on the world, Bosco Hong Limited would donate 10% of the sale price to China Exchange UK.
About the Artists
Lee Chi Ching
Born in 1963, Lee Chi Ching tells stories in simple strokes, and his artworks are liked by the famous Chinese novelist – Louis Cha Leung-yung (known as Jin Yong), as well as Japanese publishers. During most of his career, he has contributed in three comics as follows: Chinese ancient novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms; Chinese classics, The Art of War by Sun Tzu; and Cha’s wuxia fictional works.
The novels denote the wuxia spirit, embracing the value of faith, loyalty, duty and righteousness. Echo of the Mountain depicts scenery of mountainscape, embedded with the classic wuxia essence – justice is fearless, one is then honest in his words and faithful for the future.
Nina Pryde
Nina entered the arts field in late 1970’s when she took up pottery but problems with her hands forced her to give this up and she started to paint. Pryde has such natural motifs as mountains, rivers, trees, rocks, hazy clouds and mist arranged in a multi-layered composition, leading them to be seen as if from a level, a higher or a deeper distance (which are the three traditional ways of representing space in Chinese landscape painting) at the same time. Through a blend of thick, pale, dry and wet ink with ‘the five colours of black’ (meaning the use of the varying shades of pure blacks and whites), Pryde conveys her feelings about the expansiveness and magnificence of nature.
Raymond Fung Wing Kee
Born in 1952 in Hong Kong. Raymond Fung is a renowned artist and architect in Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in 1990 and has won five Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards. His works have been selected in China National Art Exhibition, Hong Kong Art Biennial and HKDA Asia Design Awards multiple times. In 2008, he received the Certificate of Commendation from HKSARG Home Affairs Bureau for his outstanding achievements in the promotion of arts and culture in Hong Kong. He was awarded Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Designers and in 2011. He was appointed Justice of the Peace.
Raymond Fung has exhibited extensively in 30 cities, including solo exhibitions in New York, Paris, Avignon, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong. His works are widely collected by international corporations and museums including Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, National Art Museum of China, Shanghai Art Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, University Museum and Art Gallery of the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
